Overview

Data Science / All-Purpose Subject Matter Expert (SME)

Clearance: TS/SCI required

Location: Springfield, VA or St. Louis, MO

Experience: 10 years of experience focusing on the concepts and applications of data analytics, computer science and programming, data modeling, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. 

 

HDNGE Branch – Provides education and training with a focus on the concepts and application of data, science, methodology, and application. Focus areas include: computational thinking, programming, statistics, visualization, and other data skills to enable the workforce to work in a data-centric environment.

Duties

 

The Lead-level Data Science SME is considered an authority in their field and a key resource as a mentor for other SMEs. They shall have a sophisticated understanding of planning, execution, oversight, and day-to-day management of contractor business activities in the HDNGE Branch and be able to apply broad or in-depth expertise in highly complex and ambiguous situations. They act as the primary POC for Data Science Course Managers (CMs) and the Branch Chief (BC), and are responsible for maintaining awareness over other Data Science SMEs certification and qualification plans to ensure compliance, while maintaining their own NGC Instructor compliances (certification/qualification) and instructing courses as assigned.

Qualifications

Skills and Experience

 

Required

  • Minimum 10 years of experience focusing on the concepts and applications of data analytics, computer science and programming, data modeling, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
  • Minimum 2 years delivering learning content to adult learners in a classroom setting.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience managing day-to-day activities of a team.
  • TS/SCI Clearance

Desired

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited (i.e., regional, national, or institutional) academic institution, related to their assigned area of expertise (i.e., Computational Thinking, Programming, Statistics, or Data Visualization).
  • Department of Defense (DoD) Basic Instructor Certification.
