Foundations and Collections / All-Purpose Subject Matter Expert (SME)

Clearance: TS/SCI required

Location: Springfield, VA

Experience: 10 years of experience focusing on the concepts and applications of Core GEOINT tradecraft, methodology, and technology. 

 

HDNGS Branch – Provides education and training with a focus on GEOINT tasking, collection, exploration applications, and concepts to answer intelligence questions within a geospatial context. Focus areas include: GEOINT Collections requirements and strategies, Foundation GEOINT data, products, and services, to include Human Geography, and Space/Counter-Space activities.

Duties

 

The Lead-level Foundations and Collections SME is considered an authority in their field and a key resource as a mentor for other SMEs. They shall have a sophisticated understanding of planning, execution, oversight, and day-to-day management of contractor business activities in the HDNGS Branch and be able to apply broad or in-depth expertise in highly complex and ambiguous situations. They act as the primary POC for Foundation and Collection Course Managers (CMs) and the Branch Chief (BC), and are responsible for maintaining awareness over other Foundation and Collection SMEs certification and qualification plans to ensure compliance, while maintaining their own NGC Instructor compliances (certification/qualification) and instructing courses as assigned.

 

A Lead-Level SME can provide support to multiple GEOINT Tradecraft Learning Level courses (Fundamental, Intermediate and Advanced) within the Foundations and Collections content area.  

Qualifications

Skills and Experience

 

Required

  • Minimum 10 years of experience focusing on the concepts and applications of Foundations and Collections tradecraft, methodology, and technology.
  • Minimum 2 years delivering learning content to adult learners in a classroom setting.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience managing day-to-day activities of a team.
  • TS/SCI Clearance

Desired

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited (i.e., regional, national, or institutional) academic institution, related to their assigned area of expertise (i.e., GEOINT Collections Requirements and Strategies, Foundational GEOINT Data, Human Geography, or Space/Counter-Space Activities).
  • Department of Defense (DoD) Basic Instructor Certification.
